What is Tiny Squares?
Tiny Squares is a puzzle game, where players race to accurately replicate a 14x14 square image using their uniquely shaped pieces. See the steps for how play below.
Assemble and prepare
Each player is given a set of 21 pieces and 14x14 grid board
Start the game
A card is flipped with an image that is to be recreated. Players begin racing to complete it using their pieces
Race to the finish
The players continue to race until everyone is finished. First person who is finished wins!
How was it made?
I created 70 puzzles, which range in difficulty (the number of pieces used). Below are the stips I took to create these puzzles.
Create a template
Using Adobe XD, I created these templates that correlate with the physical pieces that I would be using. The pieces came from a different game called Blokus by Mattel.
Completing a puzzle
My wife and I spent some time creating unique puzzles that ranged in difficulty. Many were inspired by the real world and some were random.
Create answer key
Because some of these puzzles were difficult to solve, I created an answer sheet for each puzzle in case everyone gets stuck, then they can still see the answer for the puzzle.
